## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT APPEARS TO HAVE MADE A NORMAL LANDING IN THE FIRST THIRD OF RUNWAY 30 AT SMQ. DURING THE ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET LATER THE LEFT NOSE WHEEL ENCOUNTERED A SERIES OF RUTS IN THE GRASS ALONG THE RUNWAY AND WAS TORN FROM THE FLOAT. UPON STRIKING THE GROUND THE FLOAT CAUSED TH AIRCRAFT TO TURN TO THE LEFT SUDDENLY AND EXIT THE RUNWAY. UPON EXITING THE RUNWAY TH EXCESSIVE SIDE LOAD CAUSED THE RIGHT HAND FLOAT TO COLLAPSE AT ITS MOUNTS. THIS RESULTED IN A STOPPAGE OF FORWARD SLIDING OF THE AIRCRAFT AT WHICH TIMETHE MOMENTUM CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO PIVOT ON ITS NOSE AND RIGHT WINGTIP AND COMING TO REST ON ITS BACK 180 DEGREES FROM THE ORIGINAL DIRECTION OF TRAVEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA14CA204](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA14CA204), Apr 19, 2014: Cessna A185E (N2219T), Somerville, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control while landing in a gusty crosswind.

## Other reports on N2219T (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
