## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS FLYING OVER LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE, NH CHECKING FOR LAKE ICE-OUT CONDITIONS AND DECIDED TO PERFORM A TOUCH AND GO LANDING. PILOT STATED THAT HE MISJUDGED HIS LANDING ALTITUDE DUE TO GLASSY LAKE CONDITIONS. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE WATER WITH A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. BOTH FLOATS WERE RUPTURED AND FILLED WITH WATER CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SINK TO THE BOTTOM, 105 FEET DOWN. THE PILOT WAS TAKEN TO LAKES REGION GENERAL HOSPITAL AND TREATED FOR HYPOTHERMIA.
