## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED HERITAGE FLIGHT SERVICE FBO WITH INSTRUCTION TO TAXI ON "KILO." HE OBSERVED SIGNAGE FOR THE TAXIWAY BUT MISUNDERSTOOD IT AS MARKING A VEHICLE ACCESS ROAD AS THE TAXIWAY. THE CE-182 HAS ONLY ONE TAXI LIGHT ON THE LEFT WING RESULTING IN LOWER VISIBILITY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT PROCEEDED TO TAXI ON THE VEHICLE ROAD NOT REALIZING HIS ERROR UNTIL THE RIGHT WING STRUCK A CHAIN LINK PERIMETER FENCE. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO AN APPROXIMATE TWO FOOT AREA OF THE WING LEADING EDGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
