## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 5/4/2014 AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 LOCAL N11Z WAS CRUISING AT 2000 FT AGL. THE PILOT STATES THAT HE LEANED THE MIXTURE TO 50 DEGREES ROP AS HE WAS TRAINED TO DO. AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT HE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, HE ATTEMPTED TO MANIPULATE THE THROTTLE AND MIXTURE CONTROLS TO TRY AND REGAIN ENGINE POWER. THE MANIPULATION OF THE THROTTLE AND MIXTURE CONTROLS DID NOT WORK TO REESTABLISH ENGINE POWER. HE FOUND AN OPEN FIELD AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT. UPON ROLL OUT AFTER LANDING HE HIT A RIDGE AND THAT CAUSED THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR TO BREAK OFF AND HIT THE RIGHT INBOARD SIDE OF THE FLAP, BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED AND WALKED AWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
