## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA14LA227](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA14LA227), May 7, 2014: Piper PA-28-181 (N4506W), Covington, TN, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper preflight and in-flight fuel planning, which resulted in fuel exhaustion and a subsequent total loss of engine power over unsuitable terrain.

## Other reports on N4506W (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19831231064419A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19831231064419A), Dec 31, 1983: Piper PA28181 (N4506W), Hebron, OH, Substantial damage. Pilot could not stop aircraft from sliding off end of runway and crashing into trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
