## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A FLIGHT FROM ORMOND BEACH, FLORIDA TO FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, N7050P EXPERICENCED A LOSS OF POWER WHILE AT 8,500 FEET APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES WEST OF SPACE COAST REGIONAL AIRPORT (KTIX), TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA.

THE PILOT OF N7050P IMMEDIATELY DIVERTED TO KTIX IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING. SUCH EMERGENCY LANDING RESULTED IN N7050P COMING TO REST APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET SHORT OF RUNWAY 9 AT KTIX IN A GEAR UP CONFIGURATION, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT, WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT, WAS NOT INJURED.

A POST-INCIDENT FIELD INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE OF N7050P, CONDUCTED BY FAA INSPECTORS, REVEALED ZERO COMPRESSION IN NUMBER SIX CYLINDER AND ALMOST ZERO COMPRESSON IN NUMBER FOUR CYLINDER. SUCH FINDINGS PROVIDED THE PRELIMINARY REASON FOR THE ENGINE'S LOSS OF POWER.

FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE TO DETERMINE THE SPECIFIC CAUSE FOR BOTH CYLINDERS TO LOOSE COMPRESSION WAS NOT CONDUCTED BY THE FAA DUE TO LACK OF FUNDING AND THE MINOR NATURE OF THE EVENT, WHICH INCLUDED NO INJURY TO THE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
