## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ON PERSONAL BUSINESS FLIGHT MAKING APPROACH TO RWY 03 AT SUSSEX NJ (FWN), STATED HE WAS"A BIT FAST ON FINAL". HE TOUCHED DOWN ONCE AND BOUNCED, TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN AND BOUNCED, THOUGHT HE COULD SALVAGE THE NEXT TOUCHDOWN BUT LANDED HARD AND DAMAGED THE NOSE GEAR, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND COWLING. THE PILOT STATED THAT "IT WAS BAD PILOTAGE" AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRCRAFT OR RUNWAY, AND THAT THE CROSSWIND WAS ONLY A MINOR FACTOR.

POST ACCIDENT INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT SHOWS BOTH PROP BLADES CURLED FROM THE TIPS AND SCRATCHED ON THE FRONT; NOSE GEAR BENT AFT APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES FROM NORMAL, UPPER NOSE GEAR SUPPORT TUBES BROKEN AND LOWER TUBES BENT(THE NOSE GEAR SUPPORT STRUCTURE IS INTERGAL TO THE ENGINE MOUNT SUPPORT FRAME ON THIS AIRCRAFT); SEVERAL PUNCTURES IN THE BELLY AFT OF THE FIREWALL FROM IMPACT OF THE NOSE WHEEL FAIRING; FIREWALL AND CABIN HEAT MIXING BOX DEFORMED FROM IMPACT WITH NOSE GEAR STRUCTURE. NOSE WHEEL FAIRING BROKEN, EXTERNAL EXHAUST PIPE SCRATCHED.

ALL AERODYNAMIC AND ENGINE CONTROLS ARE CONTINUOUS AND CORRECT, NO PRE IMPACT ANOMALIES TO FUSALAGE, EMPANAGE, LANDING GEAR, OR WINGS WERE NOTED.

LANDING RUNWAY WAS 03, WIND FROM 270 STEADY AT 10.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
