## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE APPROACHING THE HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT BEING USED IN THIS CASE AS A LANDING SITE TO PICK UP A PATIENT, UPON REACHING TREETOP LEVEL THE DESCENT RATE STARTED TO ACCELERATE TOWARD THE GROUND. A REVIEW OF THE VIDEO APPEARED THAT THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO ARREST THIS DESCENT RATE AND CONTACTED THE GROUND CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRFRAME BOTH THE RIGHT MAIN AND NOSE LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA252](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA252), May 25, 2014: Aerospatiale AS 365 N2 Dauphin (N365WM), Constantine, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of control while entering a vortex ring state (settling with power) condition, which resulted in a hard landing.

## Other reports on N365WM (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19911229063309I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19911229063309I), Dec 29, 1991: Aerosp AS365N2 (N365WM), Bedford, MI, Minor damage. Landing at auto accident. Downwash caused plastic sheet enter rotor system tail rotor shroud. Damaged rotor blades

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
