## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, IT WAS HIS SECOND FLIGHT OF THE DAY AND THE PURPOSE WAS TO CHECK OUT A RADIO. HE LANDED RUNWAY 5 AT GALION AIRPORT AND THE AIRPLANE SWERVED A LITTLE BIT WHICH HE CORRECTED WITH BRAKING. WHEN SLOWING TO MAKE THE TURN TO CLEAR THE RUNWAY HE SAID HE BRAKED TOO HARD AND THE AIRPLANE TAIL WENT UP AND IN SLOW MOTION THE AIRPLANE FLIPPED OVER ONTO ITS BACK.

THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE TOP OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER, BROKEN WINDSHIELD, PROPELLER BENT (Q-TIPPED) AND NOSE CONE DENTED. RIGHT-HAND SIDE WING SPAR BENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA282](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA282), May 29, 2014: Luscombe 8B (N39092), Galion, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misapplication of brakes after landing, which resulted in the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
