## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 06/01/2014, N7638, A SCHWEIZER SGS 1-34 GLIDER, WAS LANDING AT THE RANDALL AIRPORT (06N) IN THE GRASS, BESIDE RUNWAY 26. THE AIRCRAFT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND STRUCK A PIPER, PA-18A, N7067D, TOWPLANE PARKED NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CALLED THE FSDO ON 06/01/2014 TO REPORT THE ACCIDENT. SHE IDENTIFIED HERSELF AS PILOT IN COMMAND, PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED SHE WAS ON APPROACH FOR LANDING IN THE GRASS NEXT TO THE RUNWAY, AND HAD TOO MUCH ENERGY. SHE BOUNCED ON LANDING AND BUMPED THE TAIL OFF THE GRASS. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT TOWARDS THE OTHER AIRCRAFT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ APPLIED OPPOSITE AILERON/RUDDER CONTROLS BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO AVOID HITTING THE PIPER.

WITNESSES SAY THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED FAST ON FINAL AND IT LOOKED LIKE THE PILOT TRIED TO FORCE THE AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND HEADED TOWARDS THE TIEDOWN AREA AND IMPACTED THE PA-18A.

THE GLIDER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO FRONT OF IT'S RIGHT WING. THE PA-18A SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE REAR OF IT'S LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
