## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR (NO WIND) AND HE TOUCHED DOWN ON THE GRASS STRIP ABOUT 200 FEET FROM THRESHOLD. ON ROLL OUT UP THE AIRSTRIP ( IT GOES UPHILL FROM THE LAKE) THE AIRPLANE STARTED TO GO TO THE RIGHT. HE STARTED CORRECTING, BUT THE RIGHT WING HIT A SMALL TREE AND SPUN THE AIRCRAFT DOWN THE BANK TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY, WHERE THE LEFT WING HIT ANOTHER TREE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14CA223](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14CA223), Jun 3, 2014: Piper J3C 65 (N1205P), Bellingham, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing on a narrow airstrip, which resulted in a collision with trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
