## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON THE LANDING APPROACH THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED LIGHT TURBULANCE. THE AUTOMATED WEATHER OBSERVATION SYSTEM (AWOS) WAS REPORTING WINDS FROM 330 DEGREES AT 10 KNOTS (KTS) GUSTING TO 15 KTS. AT TOUCH DOWN THE PILOT HIT A GUST OF WIND. THE LEFT WHEEL WENT INTO THE GRASS AND THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE SITUTATION. THE AIRCRAFT WENT TO THE RIGHT AT A 60 DEGREE ANGLE ACROSS THE RUNWAY AND UP AN EMBANKMENT AND STOPPED IN A MUDDY AREA OF A FIELD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA285](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA285), Jun 4, 2014: Piper PA 32-260 (N3FN), Lebanon, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during landing which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
