## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THREE CONCURENT WITNESSES STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED THE FULL LENGTH OF THE RUNWAY AND DEPARTED TO THE SOUTH. AIRCRAFT CLIMBED AND INITIATED A RIGHT TURN TO THE WEST THEN BANKED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT. ALL WITNESSES STATED THAT THE WING WAS 90 DEGREES TO THE HORIZON. THE AIRCRAFT THEN NOSED OVER AND IMPACTED TERRAIN AT A HIGH ANGLE OF IMPACT LEFT WING LEADING EDGE FIRST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14FA234](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14FA234), Jun 7, 2014: Piper J3C (N24918), Paso Robles, CA, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's steep right turn shortly after takeoff, which led to the airplane exceeding its critical angle-of-attack and experiencing an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
