## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WINDS WERE LIGHT AND VARIABLE AT THE (KSEZ) SEDONA AIRPORT, SO THE AIRMAN ENTERED TRAFFIC FOR THE PREFERRED LIGHT WIND RUNWAY (03 UPHILL). THE AIRMAN FLARED HIGH AND BOUNCED HARD ON THE MAIN GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT THEN DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AND PROCEDED THROUGH A DITCH TEARING OFF THE LANDING GEAR. WITH THE NOSE GEAR TORN OFF, PROPELLER DUG IN BENDING ENGINE MOUNTS AND FIREWALL. PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT ASSISTANCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14CA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14CA259), Jun 21, 2014: Beech A23 24 (N3611Q), Sedona, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate flare and failure to maintain directional control during the aborted landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
