## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS TURNED FROM BASE LEG TO FINAL APPROACH AND WAS DESCENDING NORMALLY TO THE DISPLACED TOUCHDOWN ZONE. THE PILOT, FAMILIAR WITH THIS LANDING FIELD, WAS UNAWARE HE WAS LOWER THAN NORMAL. A POWER LINE ALONG A ROAD RAN PERPENDICULAR TO THE LANDING FIELD. THE POWER LINE CONTACTED BOTH MAIN TIRES JUST ABOVE THE CENTER. THE WIRE THEN ROLLED UP THE TIRE, CONTACTED BOTH GEAR LEGS SIMULTANEOUSLY, AND SLID TO THE UPPER ENDS OF THE GEAR LEGS BEFORE BREAKING. THE PILOT HEARD THE WIRE BREAK, BUT FELT NO REACTION. A NORMAL LANDING WAS COMPLETED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
