## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO APPROX 7500 FEET. WHERE HE RELEASED FROM THE TOW PLANE. LATER HE WAS NOTICED TO BE APPROACHING THE SOUTH RUNWAY (35). AT ABOUT 100 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND IT APPEARED HE WAS TRYING TO MAKE ANOTHER TURN TO APPROACH THE RUNWAY AND LOOSE MORE ALTITUDE. AS HE TURNED THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO STALL AND THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14LA263](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14LA263), Jun 22, 2014: Knell ASC Spirit (N127JK), Lehi, UT, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the glider’s critical angle of attack while maneuvering in a steep turn at low altitude, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
