## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 26, 2014, DURING A PRE-FLIGHT INSPECTION, THE FLIGHT ENGINEER NOTICED AN ABRASION ON THE AFT END OF THE LEFT SIDE SKID BAR, PART NUMBER 3305208-2, LOCATED ON THE LOWER FUSELAGE AT FUSELAGE STATION 817E LEFT BUTT LINE 10, ALONG WITH A SCUFFED SPOT OF PAINT AT APPROXIMATE FUSELAGE STATION 817E LEFT BUTT LINE 25. AFTER CONVERSATION WITH MAINTENANCE LEAD IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS NEGLIGIBLE. LATER THAT MORNING, SUBSEQUENT POST-FLIGHT INSPECTION IN DAYLIGHT AND BETTER WEATHER REVEALED ADDITIONAL INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

INITIAL DAMAGE WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY REPORTED AND OCCURRED AT AN UNKNOWN TIME AND UNKNOWN LOCATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
