## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N560LH, A ROBINSON R-44 HELICOPTER RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AS THE RESULT OF THE MAIN ROTOR STRIKING A WIND GENERATOR BLADE DURING CHERRY DRYING OPERATIONS AND THE SUBSEQUENT UNCONTROLLED LANDING IN THE CHERRY ORCHARD. THE COMMERCIAL PILOT ADMITTED TO HITTING THE WIND GENERATOR, AND STATED THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL DEFICIENCIES WITH THE HELICOPTER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14CA270](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14CA270), Jun 27, 2014: Robinson Helicopter R44 II (N560LH), Quincy, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from a wind generator tower while drying cherries, which resulted in a loss of aircraft control and subsequent hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
