## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

HELICOPTER DEPARTED THE TWIN FALLS, IDAHO AIRPORT (TWF) AT APPROXIMATELY 1640 LOCAL TIME WITH THE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS FOR A PHOTO FIGHT NEAR REXBURG, IDAHO. ABOUT 15 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, IN CRUISE, AT 800 AGL, THE PASSENGERS REPORT THAT THE PILOT LOST CONSCIOUSNESS. THE PASSENGERS TRIED TO WAKE THE PILOT, BUT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT REACHED ACROSS TO THE PILOTS CYCLIC AND MAINTAINED PARTIAL AIRCRAFT CONTROL TO THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AND ROLLED ONCE BEFORE COMING TO A STOP UPRIGHT. AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED AND ALL THREE PEOPLE RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14LA272), Jun 29, 2014: Aerospatiale AS350B2 (N350CR), Dietrich, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s sudden incapacitation from a previously undiagnosed medical condition while in cruise flight, which resulted in his inability to maintain helicopter control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
