## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO EYE WITNESSES THE PILOT DEPARTED WILKE FIELD LOCATED TWO MILES EAST OF THE CRASH SCENE AT 6:00PM LOCAL TIME TO TRY OUT A NEW WING THAT THE PILOT HAD INSTALLED EARLIER. THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST FLIGHT USING THE NEW WING.

THE EYE WITNESS STATED THAT HE SAW THE AIRPLANE GO FROM LEVEL FLIGHT INTO A SPIRALING DIVE INTO THE HAY FIELD AT APPROXIMATELY 7:05 PM LOCAL ACCORDING TO THE WINNEBAGO SHERRIFF DEPARTMENTS REPORT.

CRASH SCENE OF AIRCRAFT CONFIRMED THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD IMPACTED THE GROUND AT HIGH ANGLE OF ATTACK BURING INTO THE GROUND NOSE FIRST MORE THAN 2 FEET DEEP INTO THE SOIL.

THE DEBRIES FIELD WAS VERY MINIMAL IN SIZE. THE ONLY ITEMS FLUNG IN A 20 FOOT RADIUS WERE THE PILOTS WRISTWATCH WHICH WAS FOUND IN THREE SPOTS TORN INTO THREE SEPERATE PIECES IN 13 FEET FROM EACH IN A CIRCULAR PATTERN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA336](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA336), Jul 3, 2014: Northwing Design Apache Sport (N2725T), Omro, WI, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain adequate airspeed to compensate for a newly installed wing, which resulted in the aircraft stalling and the subsequent loss of control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
