## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DEPARTED OCEAN CITY, MD (OXB) AND WAS FLYING NORTH ALONG THE COAST WHEN APPROACHING LEWES, DE AT 1500' AIRCRAFT STARTED EXPERIENCING ENGINE PROBLEMS. APPLIED CARBURETOR HEAT, ADJUSTED THE MIXTURE, AND CHANGED MAGNETOS. AFTER SWITCHING MAGNETOS THE ENGINE RAN ROUGHER. DO TO THE LOSS OF ALTITUDE THE PILOT DECIDED TO FIND A PLACE TO LAND. PILOT ELECTED TO LAND ON THE BEACH DUE TO TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD.

AFTER GROUND RUN IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT MAGNETO HAD FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
