## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A HURRICANE HAD GONE THROUGH LATE SATURDAY EVENING, THIS WAS TUESDAY MORNING. THE WINDS HAD BEEN VERY HIGH EVER SINCE. (WINDS AT RIC REPORTING 240@11G17KT AT 0954, 220@12G18KT AT 1054.) THE AIRCRAFT IS A LIGHT SPORT TAILDRAGGER. JUST AFTER LANDING WIND FROM THE LEFT FRONT WEATHERVANED THE AIRCRAFT INTO THE WIND, AND OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO A DITCH WHERE THE RIGHT MAIN BECAME LODGED AND BROKE; THE PROP DUG ABOUT THREE STROKES THROUGH THE DIRT. OTHERWISE THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED UNDAMAGED. NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
