## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON PULL UP AT END OF FIELD ENGINE FLAMED OUT, PILOT SECURED THE ENGINE BY SHUTTING OFF THE FUEL AND FEATHERING THE PROPELLER. AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE MUCH ALTITUDE AND LANDED IN A WHEAT FIELD AND THEN WENT THROUGH A BARB WIRE FENCE AND INTO A PEA FIELD. AT THIS POINT THE MAIN GEAR WAS TORN FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE PROPELLER AND ENGINE WERE DAMAGED.

FUEL STRAINER DRAIN WAS BROKEN OFF SO SOME FUEL DID LEAK OUT, BUT DUE TO ANGLE OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL WAS NOTED IN THE FUEL TANKS POST ACCIDENT AND SAMPLE WAS TAKEN WITH NO CONTAMINATES NOTED

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
