## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SEQUENCE OF EVENTS:

THE A/C WAS A LIGHT SPORT TECNAM P-2004B, FLYING FROM APOPKA AIRPORT (X-04) TO MERRITT ISLAND AIRPORT (COI). THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH & FINALLY LOST POWER. THE PILOT LANDED THE A/C ON A DIRT ROAD LOCATED ON A LARGE RANCH AREA. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON LANDING. DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED TO THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY & LOWER ENGINE COWLING AREA. THE NOSE GEAR HAD BEEN BENT BACK UNDER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THERE WAS ENOUGH FUEL REMAINING IN THE TANK TO COMPLETE THE FLIGHT TO THE MERRITT ISLAND AIRPORT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA14LA344](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA14LA344), Jul 10, 2014: Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecna P2004 Bravo (N128LS), Melbourne, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power during cruise flight for reasons that could not be determined based on the available information.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
