## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N604AR, A CASA-212 S/N 289 WAS RETURNING TO ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AFTER MAKING A LOW APPROACH WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT NZARA. THE WEATHER WAS REPORTED TO BE 100 FEET OVERCAST WITH VISIBILITY OF ¼ MILE PRIOR TO THE OVERFLIGHT. THE FLIGHT WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER VISUAL FLIGHT RULES (VFR). WHILE ENROUTE BACK TO ENTEBBE THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED A FUEL GAUGE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM FOLLOWED BY A LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINE FUEL LOW LIGHTS ILLUMINATION AND LEFT ENGINE FAILURE. THE PILOT MADE A DECISION TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ALONG MITYANA ROAD IN THE MITYAND DISTRICT OF UGANDA.

FLIGHT-CREW AIRCRAFT POST-FLIGHT INSPECTION RESULTS:

MINOR DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL, LEFT, AND RIGHT STABILIZER FLIGHT CONTROLS DUE TO ENTANGLEMENT WITH A TELEPHONE POLE GUIDE WIRE.

- SMALL AREA OF THE LEFT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER CRINKLED (APPROXIMATELY A 4 INCHES WIDE).

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
