## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 30, 2014 AIRCRAFT N17856 LANDED AT SAN CARLOS AIRPORT AND TAXIED TO THE NON-MOVEMENT AREA ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE AIRPORT. HE STARTED A TURN DOWN AN INCORRECT TAXIWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE ERROR BY TURNING HIS AIRCRAFT LEFT AND BACK ONTO THE APPROPRIATE TAXIWAY. N17856 STRUCK THE RIGHT WING OF AN UNOCCUPIED AIRCRAFT, N200MA, A PA32, WITH THE RIGHT WING OF AIRCRAFT N17856. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14CA328](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14CA328), Jul 30, 2014: Beech A36 - Undesignat (N17856), San Carlos, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during taxi.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
