## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER CONDUCTING A SEARCH MISSION FOR THE LOCAL SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR A FEW HOURS THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROACHING RUNWAY 14 AT MOBILE DOWNTOWN AIRPORT (BFM) AND WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR LANDING . THE PILOT FLARED THE AIRCRAFT TOO QUICKLY WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO FLOAT TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTERLINE. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND WENT INTO THE GRASS STRIKING THE 6000 FEET REMAINING MARKER WITH HIS RIGHT WING. THE AIRCRAFT HAD DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING TIP AND RIGHT LEADING EDGE. THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE NOTICED DURING THE INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
