## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 24 AT APALACHICOLA, FL (AAF) AND EXPERIENCED NO PROBLEMS. PILOT DECIDED TO PERFORM A NORMAL LANDING DUE TO THE AIRCRAFT HAVING A PREVIOUS HISTORY OF A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT REACHED THE THRESHOLD, THE PILOT COMMENCED A GO AROUND. THE PILOT INCREASED HIS THROTTLE TO FULL AT A STEADY RATE AS HE WAS CLIMBING. THE PILOT RAISED THE FLAPS FROM 30 DEGREES TO 20 DEGREES, THE ENGINE WAS NORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO PICK UP SPEED AND CLIMB. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PAST THE LAST THIRD OF THE RUNWAY WITH FLAPS MOVING FROM 20 TO 10 DEGREES WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN

200-300' BUT NOT HIGH ENOUGH TO TURN AROUND. THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND

STRAIGHT AHEAD, WHICH WAS INTO THE PINE TREES. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED CLIMBING AND THE PILOT PITCHED THE NOSE DOWN SO NOT TO STALL. THE PILOT FOLLOWED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND PUMPED THE THROTTLE TO START THE ENGINE. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO GLIDE FURTHER BEFORE THE ENGINE DIED AGAIN. THE PILOT CONTINUED TO PUMP THE THROTTLE AND THE ENGINE STARTED BEFORE STOPPING AGAIN. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY A HALF MILE SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT IN THE MARSH.
