## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 22, 2014, N6496N, A BEECH BONANZA B36TC, WITH 4 PEOPLE ONBOARD, WAS ATTEMPTING A GO AROUND AT THE HARRIS RANCH AIRPORT (308) IN COALINGA, CA. THE PIC HAD PREVIOUSLY ATTEMPTED A STRAIGHT IN LANDING WITH A LEFT REAR QUARTERING TAILWIND BETWEEN 8-10 KTS. THE PILOT ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO GET BEHIND THE POWER CURVE. ONCE HE HEARD THE STALL HORN HE IMMEDIATELY ADDED POWER AND RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR, HOWEVER THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO SETTLE UNTIL IT STRUCK THE SURFACE NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT THE PILOT HAD 10 HOURS IN THIS HIGH PERFORMANCE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
