## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GOES AT VAN NUYS AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 16L WHEN HE LOST CONTROL. DURING THE MANEUVER ON THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO STEER TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT THEN APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER WITH FULL POWER AND AILERONS NEUTRAL, THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED OFF THE RUNWAY AT TAXI WAY GOLF. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY THE PILOT CLOSED THE THROTTLE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED ON THE AIRPORT SERVICE ROAD ADJACENT TO TAXI WAY BRAVO. THE AIRCRAFT HIT TWO TAXI WAY LIGHT AND ONE CONE WITH LITTLE DAMAGE TO STRUT COVERS AND THE LEFT HORIZONTAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
