## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT EXECUTED NORMAL APPROACH TO RWY 16 AND TOUCHED DOWN JUST BEFORE THE INTERSECTION OF CROSSING RWY 27. THERE IS A DIP AT THIS INTERSECTION WHICH SENT THE AIRCRAFT AIRBORNE. PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT UPON SECOND TOUCHDOWN. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY AND WENT INTO THE GRASS. THE GEAR COLLAPSED WHEN THE MAIN WHEELS MADE CONTACT WITH THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. METAR REPORTED WINDS AT 17011KT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14LA493](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14LA493), Sep 3, 2014: Davis Benny Christen Eagle II (N229HP), Vinton, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during landing after the airplane encountered uneven pavement at the intersection with a crossing runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
