## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT AND ONLY OCCUPANT OF MAULE AIRCRAFT, N719WM, ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF AT THE LAGO VISTA AIRPORT, WITH NORTH EAST WINDS EIGHT MPH GUSTING TO 16MPH. AFTER ROTATION THE AIRCRAFT ONLY CLIMBED A FEW FEET WHEN THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED BACK TO THE RUNWAY. SEVERAL BOUNCES OCCURRED RESULTING IN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN THE GRASS ALONG THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA503](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA503), Sep 12, 2014: Maule MT 7-260 (N719WM), Largo Vista, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for gusting wind conditions during takeoff, which resulted in the nose landing gear impacting the runway and the subsequent collapse of the nose landing gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
