## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING ON RUNWAY 31, THE AIRCRAFT MADE A HARD LANDING, FOLLOWED BY TWO OR THREE BOUNCES. THE PILOT DECIDED TO GO-AROUND.

DURING THE GO-AROUND, THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL LATERALLY, AND IT SUBSEQUENTLY IMPACTED THE GRASSY AREA TO THE LEFT OF RUNWAY 31. THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WINGTIP STRUCK THE GROUND FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE MAIN FUSELAGE IMPACTING THE RISING SLOPE OF A DRAINAGE DITCH.

THE AIRCRAFT'S FUEL TANKS WERE RUPTURED AND A POST CRASH FIRE ENSUES. BOTH THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WITH SERIOUS INJURIES WHICH WERE NON-BURN RELATED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN14CA501](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN14CA501), Sep 16, 2014: Cirrus Design SR22 (N6081K), Longville, MN, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of control during an attempted go-around following a multiple bounce landing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
