## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/19/2014 AT A GRASS STIP IN WOODBURN INDIANA (53II), A PIPER PA-36-285, PILOTED BY A COMMERCIAL PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, CRASHED INTO A CORN FIELD AFTER THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER. IN THIS CASE THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON THE GROUND ROLL WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER AND HE PULLED THE THROTTLE TO IDLE. THE PILOT REALIZED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT AND TRIED TO REAPPLY POWER. THIS ATTEMPT FAILED. AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY HE HIT A BERM TO THE ROAD AT WHICH TIME THE WHEEL TRACKS INDICATE THAT THE LEFT MAIN GEAR BROKE. THE AIRCRAFT WENT AIRBORNE ABOVE A CORN FIELD AND BELOW POWER LINES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ABOUT 186 FEET INTO A CORN FIELD. THIS IS APPROXIMATLEY 210 FEET AFTER HITTING THE BERM. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST 90 DEGREES CLOCKWISE FROM THE ORIENTATION OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE AIRCRAFT.
