## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE MIDWAY BETWEEN ITS DEPARTURE POINT OF BADAMI AND ITS DESTINATION OF DEADHORSE. THE FAILURE WAS CHARACTERIZED AS A SUDDEN AND VIOLENT ONSET FOLLOWED BY BLUE SMOKE ENTERING THE CABIN.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT AN ALTITUDE OF 800 FEET WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. A SUCCESSFUL EMERGENCY LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED ON WET TUNDRA. DURING THE ROLL OUT THE NOSE WAS HELD OFF AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BUT FINALLY DUG INTO THE WET TUNDRA ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE AIRPLANE TO FLIP OVER ON ITS BACK.

THERE WAS NO POST CRASH FIRE AND ALL OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO EXTRACT THEMSELVES FROM THE AIRCRAFT.

PRIOR TO EXECUTING THE EMERGENCY LANDING THE PILOT DECLARED A MAYDAY ALONG WITH THEIR LOCATION. A CALL WAS MADE ON THE EMERGENCY SATELLITE PHONE TO THE BASE COMPANY TO DISPATCH A RESCUE HELICOPTER.

ALL OCCUPANTS WERE PICKED UP WITHIN AN HOUR OF THE ACCIDENT AND TAKEN TO MEDICAL. ONLY MINOR INJURIES WERE NOTED BY TWO OF THE OCCUPANTS.
