## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DEPARTING FROM ONEIDA SCOTT COUNTY AIRPORT (SCX) ON RUNWAY 05, ON ROTATION THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A HARD YAW TO THE RIGHT. SUSPECTING AN ENGINE FAILURE OF THE RIGHT ENGINE, HE COUNTERACTED WITH LEFT RUDDER AND THEN RAISED THE GEAR, CLIMBING OUT ON A HEADING OF 050 AT 105 KNOTS TO 500 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. THE PILOT THEN MADE A LEFT TURN AND RETURNED BACK TO THE AIRPORT LANDING ON RUNWAY 23 WITH A WIND COMPONENT OF 050 @ 7 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 1/3 OF THE DISTANCE DOWN THE RUNWAY. SHORTLY AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER TO THE LEFT THE PILOT APPLIED POWER TO THE LEFT ENGINE AND RIGHT RUDDER PEDAL WITH LITTLE TO NO EFFECT. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO DEPART THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT AND INTO THE GRASS DOWN A SLOPE COMING TO REST IN A DITCH. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE HAD NOT FAILED BUT THAT THE PILOT DEPARTED WITH THE RUDDER TRIM IN THE FULL RIGHT POSITION.
