## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ON A CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM FRANKLIN, KY TO WARSAW, MO FOR FUEL. THE RUNWAY LIGHTS AT WARSAW WOULD NOT TURN ON AND THE PILOT DEVIATED TO SEDALIA. HE SAW CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ON RUNWAY 18-36, WHICH WAS CLOSED VIA NOTAM, BUT WAS CONCERNED WITH HIS FUEL STATE, SO HE CIRCLED THE AIRPORT AND THEN MADE A SHORTFIELD LANDING AS TO AVOID ANY EQUIPMENT. THE PILOT GOT FUEL AND SUBSEQUENTLY DEPARTED ON ANOTHER RUNWAY WHICH WAS OPEN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
