## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR14CA399](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR14CA399), Sep 30, 2014: Cessna 172N (N738TJ), Thermal, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing after an encounter with a dust devil.

## Other reports on N738TJ (1)

- [Incident 19850319014869I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850319014869I), Mar 19, 1985: Cessna 172N (N738TJ), Greensboro, NC, Minor damage. Pulled prop thru with mag switch on. Started and struck parked 152. Flew damaged aircraft without ferry permit.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
