## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CAREFLIGHT 2, N603CF, AN AGUSTA A119 OPERATED BY TRISTATE CAREFLIGHT LLC, STRUCK A FENCE WITH ITS TAIL ROTOR WHILE PICKING UP A PATIENT AT CHIRIACO SUMMIT AIRPORT (L77) ON 10/06/2014, 2243 PDT WHILE OPERATING WITH NIGHT VISION GOGGLES (NVG). TAIL ROTOR SUSTAINED MINOR ABRASION DAMAGE TO BLADE LEADING EDGES.

CAREFLIGHT 2 WAS RESPONDING TO A REQUEST FOR A PATIENT TRANSFER FROM A SISTER AIRCRAFT, CAREFLIGHT 8 (N303CF), WHICH MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING EARLIER DUE TO A TRANSMISSION CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATION. CAREFLIGHT 8'S CHIP LIGHT WAS CAUSED BY "FUZZ" AND SUBSEQUENTLY CLEARED BY MAINTENANCE FOR RETURN TO ITS HOME BASE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
