## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN CONDUCTING AN ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 36 AT THE DUBUQUE REGIONAL AIRPORT, DUBUQUE, IA. LOW IFR WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE APPROACH AND REPORTED AS 5 MILES IN LIGHT RAIN AND MIST, OVERCAST CEILING AT 200 FEET. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE AIRCRAFT BROKE OUT OF THE OVERCAST CLOUDS APPROXIMATELY ½ TO 2/3 OF THE DISTANCE DOWN THE RUNWAY AND WITHIN 1-2 SECONDS REENTERED THE OVERCAST CLOUD LAYER. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TERRAIN FOLLOWING A LOSS OF CONTROL APPROXIMATELY 0.9 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE AIRPORT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN15FA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN15FA008), Oct 14, 2014: Piper PA46 (N9126V), Dubuque, IA, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of airplane control while attempting to fly a missed approach procedure in instrument meteorological conditions.

## Other reports on N9126V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19890804050359I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19890804050359I), Aug 4, 1989: Piper PA46310P (N9126V), St Louis, MO, Minor damage. Unable to lower gear. Landed with gear up. Later gear worked normally. Gear pump under investigation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
