## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 19 OCT 2014, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS RECEIVING MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUCTION FROM ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IN N6060U, A BEECHCRAFT BE-58P. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RECEIVED A SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE ON DEPARTURE FROM KMER. THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND VEERED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY APPROXIMATELY 800 FEET FROM THE BEGGINNING OF RUNWAY 31. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AND DESTROYED ONE PAPI LIGHT BOX. NO INJURIES REPORTED. ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DID NOT REDUCE THE OPERATING ENGINE'S POWER QUICKLY ENOUGH TO PRECLUDE THE YAW EFFECT AND MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
