## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED, "I WAS TAKING OFF FROM KLHZ ON RUNWAY 5 AT APPROXIMATELY 1100 EDST TO APPLY ANT BAIT TO A LOCAL NURSERY. I HAD RECEIVED FUEL SERVICE FROM THE LOCAL FBO. AS I ACCELERATED TO DEPART THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIT BY A STRONG GUST THAT RESULTED IN A LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE RESULT WAS A GROUND LOOP WITH SOME DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT."

PILOT STATED THE TIME ZONE AS "EDST"; THE LOCAL TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WAS 1100 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME.

THE PILOT GROUND LOOPED THE AIRCRAFT ON TAKEOFF CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE GEAR AND EMPENNAGE. TAKEOFF WAS FROM RUNWAY 5; AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT BECAUSE OF GROUND LOOP, SETTLING IN THE GRASS. NO RUNWAY OR TAXIWAY LIGHTS WERE STRUCK. WIND REPORTS FROM THE TIME AND LOCATION OF THE ACCIDENT SHOW WIND DIRECTION OUT OF THE NORTHWEST (APPROXIMATELY 300 DEGREE DIRECTION) AT UP TO 8 MPH STEADY WITH GUSTS UP TO 18 MPH (TOTAL SPEED) REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
