## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 25, 2014 AT 1400Z, THE PIC OF N536CB DEPARTED RWY 27 WITH (1) PASSENGER AND DURING ROTATION, THE PILOT REPORTED TO ATC THE LH CANOPY DOOR HAD BECOME AJAR AND REQUESTED CLEARANCE TO RETURN TO SFB. THE PIC WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE THE CANOPY DOOR DURING THE APPROACH, ULTIMATELY CAUSING THE DOOR ASSEMBLY TO FAIL AND SEPARATE FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE PIC WAS CLEARED AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON RWY 27, TAXIED TO THE SOUTHWEST RAMP WITH NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE DOOR WAS NEVER RECOVERED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
