AT APPROXIMATELY 2000C ON NOVEMBER 20, 2014, AT DALLAS LOVE FIELD (DAL), N263WN WAS TAXIING FROM GATE 3 FOR DEPARTURE FOR A FUNCTIONAL CHECK FLIGHT (FCF) FOLLOWING HEAVY MAINTENANCE. THE LEFT WINGLET OF N263WN STRUCK THE RIGHT ELEVATOR/STABILIZER OF N8314L (FLIGHT 313), WHICH WAS STATIONARY ON TAXIWAY P AWAITING GATE 14 TO CLEAR. THERE WERE 163 PASSENGERS ON BOARD N8314.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES' SAFETY AND SECURITY DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATION CONCLUDED THAT THE FLIGHT CREW OF N263WN DID NOT MAINTAIN ADEQUATE LATERAL CLEARANCE FROM AIRCRAFT N8314L.

THIS REPORT IS CLOSED. THIS REPORT WILL BE RE-OPENED IF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS EVENT IS PROVIDED.

## Other aircraft in the event

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA15CA025](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA15CA025), Nov 21, 2014: Boeing 737 7H4 (N263WN), Dallas, TX, minor damage. Probable cause: N263WN captain's failure to maintain a safe clearance from the parked N8314L resulting in a ground collision.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
