## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 22 NOVEMBER, 2014, A PA-31-350 AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND WHILE ON APPROACH TO LAND IN KAKE, ALASKA. THE ATP RATED PILOT IN COMMAND ELECTED TO RETURN TO JUNEAU, ALASKA, THE AIRPORT OF ORIGIN, WHERE EMERGENCY SERVICES WERE AVAILABLE. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO MANUALLY EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE PILOT IN COMMAND WAS FINALLY ABLE TO LOWER THE MAIN LANDING GEAR BY EMERGENCY ACTUATION BUT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO FULLY EXTEND AND LOCK. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RWY 8 WHERE THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE TWO PASSENGERS OR THE CREW. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
