ON DECEMBER 03, 2014, N265EP, AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT GLASTAR, OPERATED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WHILE LANDING AT FIRSTAIR FIELD (W16) DRIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE MUDDY GRASS THEN FLIPPED OVER ONTO ITS BACK. THE SOLE OCCUPANT WAS NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR15CA053](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR15CA053), Dec 3, 2014: Stafford Wayne H Glastar (N265EP), Monroe, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a runway excursion and encounter with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
