## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE IN A LEFT HAND BANK THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWERLINES WHICH SHEARED 5 FEET OF WING OFF THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND 2 FEET OF WING OFF THE LEFT HAND SIDE. IMPACT ELIMINATED ROLL CONTROL AS BOTH AILERON CABLES WERE SHEARED AND AILERONS TORN IN HALF. PILOT MANAGED TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE HOME AIRPORT WHERE IT CRASHED APPROXIMATELY 150 FOOT OFF RUNWAY CENTERLINE. THE POWERLINES STRUCK WERE ESTIMATED TO BE APPROX 6O FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN15CA095](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN15CA095), Dec 8, 2014: Cessna 152 (N787PB), Mount Pleasant, TX, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to maneuver the airplane at low altitude resulting in the airplane impacting power lines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
