## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A STUDENT PILOT CROSS COUNTRY THE INSTRUCTOR INITIATED A GO AROUND DURING APPROACH TO LANDING DUE TO GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS (GUST TO 28 REPORTED). WHEN POWER WAS ADDED, THE ENGINE HESITATED AND STALLED, LIKELY DUE TO THE EXTREME COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS AND RAPID POWER ADVANCEMENT. THEY LANDED ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY, HOWEVER, DUE TO THE STRONG CROSSWINDS, THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY AND INTO A SNOW DRIFT AND FLIPPED OVER CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE STUDENT OR INSTRUCTOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
