## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER ENGINE START BY THE STUDENT PILOT, THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED ACROSS THE RAMP AND STRUCK THE TREES APPROXIMATELY 343 FEET FROM THE PARKING SPOT. STUDENT PILOT CLAIMS THAT THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND THROTTLE CONTROL WAS FROZEN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA15LA097](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA15LA097), Jan 10, 2015: Cessna 152 (N89921), Cullman, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control after engine start, which resulted in a ground collision with trees.

## Other reports on N89921 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19920123055469I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920123055469I), Jan 23, 1992: Cessna 152 (N89921), Bowling Green, KY, Minor damage. Student pilot on first solo crosscountry became lost. Precautionary landing in farm field.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
