## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ON APPROACH TO KJQF, THE PILOT OBSERVED A LARGE BIRD DIVE TOWARD THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT EXECUTED A RIGHT TURN IN AN EFFORT TO AVOID THE OBJECT. BIRD IMPACTED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE AT APPROXIMATELY MID-WING RESULTING IN AN AREA OF DAMAGE MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 1 FOOT DEEP BY 2 FEET ACROSS IN THE LEADING EDGE SKIN AND SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE (SKIN BUCKLING) TO THE UPPER WING SKIN DIRECTLY AFT OF THE LEADING EDGE SKIN. PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INCIDENT. NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
